When prepared properly, groundnut soup is deliciously irresistible. It is the perfect soup to pair with Garri or any of your favourite Golden Penny Swallows. Copy this recipe and try it at home for a delicious time.

  • 2 cups Golden Penny Garri
  • 1 Cup groundnut groundpaste
  • 1 Lb Beef/turkey / fish
  • 1/4 to 1/2 Cup Palm Oil
  • 1 Handful bitter leaf
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 large Bell pepper
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Crayfish
  • 1 large Habanero Pepper
  • 2 Seasoning Cubes
  • 2 Tsp Grated Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Salt


  • Firstly, wash, season and boil the beef. Cook for 30 more minutes or till it becomes tender.
  • Blend together the peppers, Tomatoes and onion.
  • Add the blended pepper, crayfish, Palm Oil to the boiling meat and leave to cook for a while.
  • Add the ground paste to the stew and mix thoroughly until the peanut is totally dissolved in the stew. Cover it up and leave to cook for about 10 to 12 minutes
  • Stir in the chopped up bitter leaf and leave to simmer for an additional two minutes.
  • Serve with Golden Penny Eba.
