Plantain Chips and Green Dip


Mostly relished by majority of Nigerians as a fun snack, plantain chips is great for any time of day. Replicate this recipe for all plantain chip lovers around you

  • 1 bunch Plantain
  • 3 tbsp Golden Penny Soya Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Chopped Celery
  • Chopped Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Chooped Ginger
  • 1 large Green Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Green Chilli
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 4 Chopped Spring Onions
  • 1 bulb Onions


  • Thinly slice plantain
  • Season with a bit of salt
  • Heat up Golden Penny soya oil and add fry till crispy
  • Take off heat and let excess oil drain
  • Dip
  • Add celery, parsley, garlic, ginger, spring onions, green pepper, onions, green chilli to a Blender and blend till smooth
  • Add golden penny soya oil to pan, once heated add blended green mix
  • Fry for 7mins or until water is reduced.
  • Add sesame oil, salt and seasoning to taste
  • Take off heat and serve as a dip for the plantain chips
